Inside the Walls
My journey began as a corrections officer at a Colorado Department of Corrections Level 5 maximum-security prison. I served on the security side of the facility, working control towers, perimeter posts, and inmate escorts both inside and outside the prison walls.
During that time, I saw my share of violence and the many dangers present in prison life.

Everyone in prison is doing time. The only difference is that the officers get to go home at the end of their shift.
Life inside the walls is constant observation and reaction—paired with paperwork, and heavy stress on both sides of the bars.
Being in uniform also limits what can be shared when it comes to faith. While rehabilitation programs address behavior—education, therapy, mental health care, substance-abuse treatment, and life-skills training—they do not reach the root: the carnal nature of man and the spiritual battle for the soul.
In 2014, after sensing a clear call from God, I stepped away from my position to begin a prison ministry. TapOut Ministries was launched to bring the truth of the Gospel inside the prison walls—offering real hope, real transformation, and a path from incarceration to renewed life in Christ and restored community.
Beyond the Walls
Millions of children in the United States are impacted by parental incarceration. Many grow up facing emotional distress, instability, and the long-term effects of a broken family structure
When one person goes to prison, the whole family is affected. The need goes far beyond the prison walls.
Incarceration does not only effect the individual—it impacts the entire family. Homes are disrupted, relationships are strained, and stability is often replaced with uncertainty.
TapOut's mission is not only for those behind the walls, but for the families left behind—often holding nothing but hope in their hands.
Beyond the Walls is a ministry for you—connecting you with a caring community, encouraging you in the faith, and helping rebuild what has been torn down.
Your hope is never forgotten, when it is placed in the hands of the One who cares for you.
"Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." —Matthew 19:14
Community Restoration
When a man leaves prison, the journey is far from over. He steps back into a world that has moved on without him, often facing uncertainty, pressure, and the weight of starting over.
Many struggle to find stability.
Employment, housing, and rebuilding
relationships can feel overwhelming, and
without support, the path forward can
quickly become uncertain.
Leaving prison is not the finish line—It is the beginning of a new fight.
TapOut Ministries walks with men throughthis critical season by connecting them with the local New Testament church.Through mentorship and discipleshipwithin the church body, we help themrebuild their lives on a firm foundation inChrist.
This is where restoration happens—notjust returning to society, but stepping intoa new life with purpose, accountability, anda community that stands beside them.
